Yamil Arocho is a Senior Vice President of Weitzman based in New York City. With over 20 years of real estate appraisal and consulting experience, Mr. Arocho has appraised hundreds of properties located in the Metropolitan New York area and states throughout the country. His primary market area is the five boroughs of New York City and his secondary market area includes Westchester, Long Island, and Northern New Jersey.

Mr. Arocho has extensive experience appraising a wide spectrum of properties that include: vacant land and development sites, residential properties, office buildings, retail properties, hotels, industrial properties, mixed-use properties, proposed developments, easements, rights-of-way, and development rights. Mr. Arocho also has extensive knowledge of New York City zoning regulations and specializes in complex real estate assignments.

Mr. Arocho’s focus is on valuation, litigation and support, expert witness testimony, arbitrations, appraisal review, rebuttal reports, discounted cash flow analysis, estate and gift tax planning, tax appeal, consulting, land valuation and the valuation of transferable development rights. Through his extensive work with some of New York City’s top real estate attorneys, Mr. Arocho is well-versed in New York's Eminent Domain Procedure Law (EDPL) and the many intricacies of valuing partial takings and determinations of damages.

Mr. Arocho has appeared as an expert witness on real estate valuation in New York State Supreme Courts in New York County (Manhattan) and Kings County (Brooklyn).

Mr. Arocho is an MAI Designated Member of the Appraisal Institute and holds a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from the University of Colorado Boulder.
