Yamil Arocho is a Senior Vice President of Weitzman, based in New York City. With over 25 years of real estate appraisal and consulting experience, Yamil has appraised hundreds of properties located in Metropolitan New York and throughout the U.S. While his primary market area expertise includes the five boroughs of New York City, and the surrounding region, Yamil holds active permanent Certified General Appraiser licenses in the States of New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Washington DC, Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, Florida, and Colorado.
Yamil has extensive experience appraising a wide spectrum of properties that include vacant land and development sites, residential properties, office buildings, retail properties, hotels, industrial properties, mixed-use properties, proposed developments, easements, rights-of-way, and development rights. Yamil is well-versed in New York’s Eminent Domain Procedure Law (EDPL) and the many intricacies of valuing partial takings and determinations of damages.
Yamil is an MAI Designated Member of the Appraisal Institute and holds a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from the University of Colorado at Boulder.
