Catherine Tam joined Weitzman in 2001, and is a Vice President based in Florida. Ms. Tam specializes in hospitality consulting, with further focus on investment analysis, and participates in many of the firm’s most complex research and analysis assignments. She routinely manages assignments inclusive of hospitality, residential, office, and retail uses, frequently as part of major mixed-use developments, and has significant expertise with all property types nationwide.

Upon graduating from The Hotel School at Cornell University, Ms. Tam began her career in the New York office of Hospitality Valuation Services (HVS), a global hospitality consulting services firm. As a consulting and valuation analyst and senior associate at HVS, Ms. Tam completed appraisal and other related consulting work for all hotel types ranging from limited-service, economy-scale hotels to large-scale convention hotels located nationwide, as well as luxury, five-star resorts located in destinations such as Bermuda, Puerto Rico, The Bahamas, Antigua, and Turks & Caicos.

After several years at HVS, Ms. Tam then joined Starwood Hotels and Resorts as a Manager in Development. At Starwood, Ms. Tam continued to research markets located throughout North America and the Caribbean, for the purpose of projecting cash flows for new hotel development as well as existing hotel acquisitions. As a member of the Development Team, Ms. Tam’s further responsibilities at Starwood included structuring deal models and analyzing investment returns.
